It Must Be Love Wedding Photography » Joyful, natural wedding photography by renowned Royal Wedding photographer Christopher Ison. Hampshire, Sussex and across the UK.

Welcome to the deliciously divine day of our delightsome darlings Tamsin and Jay!  Their gorgeous Hertfordshire wedding venue had it all, including a choice of indoor or outdoor ceremony rooms, which you could chose between with only an hour’s notice – perfect for our summer showers! Luckily for Tamsin and Jay the weather was kind and they were married by the lake, surrounded by beautiful gardens and blossoming trees. So much love and thought went into the day – the dusty green accents, pearl and diamanté details, sensational flowers, and of course Tamsin’s heavenly wedding dress. We feel utterly blessed to be part of their big day and we’re thrilled to be able to share some of their romantic wedding photography with you now. Thank you Tamsin and Jay, we wish you a lifetime of love and happiness together!
With love from Chris and Helen xx

Oh my goodness, what an image! We’ve loved getting to know Olivia and Westley over the last few months as they plan their fabulous Old Thorns wedding in August. But we still weren’t prepared for how much fun we’d have during their engagement shoot! They both looked absolutely amazing, the tulips were in glorious full bloom and well, you’ll have to come back next week to see the full engagement shoot!

“Wow wow wow! The images are even better than we could have imagined. You’ve made my mother cry! We absolutely love them. So glad we chose you to photograph our wedding day.”
Olivia, our beautiful bride-to-be

There are so many gorgeously romantic images from this wedding, but I had to start with this one! Amy and Rob’s plans for a fun-filled day by the sea all came together in a fabulously memorable wedding which we were so happy to be a part of. Just down the road from us at the lovely Tournerbury Woods Estate on Hayling Island, Hampshire, Amy and Rob tied the knot under a huge hazy sky, with views across Chichester Harbour. It was a wonderfully romantic moment, followed by a relaxed celebration – complete with bouncy castle, great music and marshmallows around the fire.

We’re thrilled to be able to share a few of our favourite images from the day. Congratulations again to Amy and Rob, and we wish you and your friends and families many more happy times ahead.

Chris and Helen xx

“The pictures are fantastic and have revived our memories of the day, it was so much fun. Thank you so much to both you and Chris.” Amy and Rob

If you’re planning a wedding and would love some naturally beautiful photography, taken by a long standing and hugely trusted photographer, please contact us, or find out more about our exceptional quality and impeccable service here.

More from our beautiful bride Amy…

How did it feel when you saw your wedding photography for the first time?
So excited! Being able to look back on the day was quite emotional and we couldn’t wait to share them with our family and friends. My Mum said the pictures were so amazing, we all looked like models in a magazine. That made my Dad very happy!

Which are you favourites and why?
Of course we love the images of our ceremony and our loved ones’ reactions, but we also really enjoy the candid shots of our wedding party and guests just celebrating the day. The wedding seemed to go so quickly and capturing those moments that not everyone sees make your memories extra special.

What was it like to have Chris as your wedding photographer?
Photography was at the top of my list and, having worked with Chris previously, so was he. Chris was fantastic and made the process really easy. As always his informal laid back approach made you feel at ease in front of the camera and he really captured the spirit and atmosphere the day. Chris was friendly and accommodating to our guests, whilst at the same time being so stealth-like you almost didn’t realise he was there!

What did you like (or dislike!) about our service, from start to finish?
Chris is approachable and professional, and we were introduced to his wife Helen who coordinates the bookings (They say behind every great man is a greater woman right?!) From organizing our photography with Chris through to receiving our images, Helen’s personal touch made the experience enjoyable and memorable.

Would you be happy to recommend Chris?
Absolutely!

What did you love most about your wedding day?
I loved how laid back and personal it was, we had so much fun having all our friends and family together enjoying the celebration. And marrying my best friend of course!

You both looked utterly amazing, where were your outfits from?
Thank you! Rob, the Groom and his Best Man had their outfits hand-made in Da Nang in Viet Nam when they visited for work! I didn’t have the same opportunity sadly, but discovered a lovely boutique bridal in Southampton instead.

Any other suppliers you’d like to recommend?
Clifford Brown Caterers produced some high quality and delicious food that our guests raved about. They now have a restaurant open in Knowle Village too called Clifford Brown Brasserie. It’s definitely worth a visit.

What’s your best advice for couples who are planning their wedding?
Agree to disagree! There are so many elements to organizing a wedding and you cannot agree on everything all the time. Learn to compromise but equally remember that the day is about the two of you, so work together to make it memorable for you both and most importantly have fun! No one is going to notice that the napkins are white instead of the rose gold colour you wanted…

Thank you Amy and Rob, we really appreciate all your feedback! xx

Lindsey and Tom

Well this is probably our QUIRKIEST wedding yet and we absolutely LOVE Lindsey and Tom for it! Lindsey looked utterly amazing, showing off her beautiful bump in head-to-toe blush pink sequins. Tom was equally dashing and they high-fived their way through an incredibly fun day, with so many personal, touching moments! Not long after their wedding day and rather sooner than expected, Tom and Lindsey had a beautiful baby boy. Both mummy and baby are doing really well and we wish them all a happy and fun-filled future together.

We’re honoured to have been part of such a joyful celebration with two of the loveliest people and their families. We hope you enjoy some of our favourite images from the day.

Chris and Helen xx

Congratulations Lindsey and Tom! How did it feel when you saw your wedding photography for the first time?
We were absolutely thrilled to receive our package so soon after the wedding. The ceremony went by in a blur so it was great to look back over and see each other’s reactions. We both also really loved the photos of our family members during the speeches as they just completely captured people’s personalities and were so natural.

What was it like to have Chris as your wedding photographer?
From the very beginning, Chris and Helen inspired confidence in us, even though we weren’t even in the country. The communication from Helen throughout, and the photos by Chris, are a perfect combination. We were slightly nervous at the pre-wedding shoot but Chris made us feel so relaxed that, when it came to the actual wedding, we didn’t even realise he was there most of the time! All of our guests commented on how nice our photographer was.

What did you love most about your wedding day?
Having all our friends and family together, just enjoying the party. And seeing them come across all the hidden surprises like the sing-a-long instead of a ceremony reading, and the late night karaoke double decker bus!

You both looked utterly amazing, where were your outfits from?
Lindsey’s dress was from the Jenny Packham collection for Debenhams and Tom’s suit was made when we were both living in China.

Any suppliers you’d like to recommend?
The venue The Missing Sock was absolutely fantastic and gave us the exact laid back and fun wedding we wanted. It’s a charity which supports social enterprises and we would highly recommend them as a venue. Everyone working there is a volunteer but the service and care we received were first class – and the food was delicious! We also received great service from our videographer, Save the Dog Productions and loved the hair and make up by Lipstick & Curls.

What’s your best advice for couples who are planning their wedding?
To not stress about the little things, or pleasing everyone. It’s your wedding and it will be you looking back on it all for years to come. People won’t remember the flowers but they will remember having fun and celebrating with you!

Would you be happy to recommend Chris?
Yes we would! Chris managed to capture the fun atmosphere of the day, which is exactly what we wanted.

Thank you to Lindsey and Tom for taking the time to share their experience with us, especially with a new baby deserving their full attention! We absolutely love quirky, unusual, fun-filled weddings so please get in touch to tell us about your plans.

Well I think this might be our STEAMIEST engagement shoot yet! A gorgeous young couple, madly in love, enjoying every minute of their engagement ahead of their wedding in Cambridgeshire next spring. Tamsin and Jay’s venue is beautiful and can prepare for an indoor or outdoor ceremony with just one hour’s notice – perfect for the Great British weather. Don’t ask me where though, they’re keeping it a surprise! Luckily the sun shone for our shoot at West Dean Gardens, near Chichester, and we’ve got a feeling their wedding photography will be spectacular next year xx

“We had so much fun, especially in the hay, I will never look at one of those hay bales in the same way again! It’s given us lovely memories and we absolutely love our photos – everything is perfect and we are so pleased. Chris was amazing, we felt really relaxed and couldn’t ask for more, we can’t wait for him to shoot our special day!” Tamsin and Jay
